A wedding reception line tip

The best way to greet guests at a wedding reception is by the formation of a receiving line. The order given is the best and most obvious way:

Heading the line is the bride's mother accompanied by the mother of the groom.
Then, the bride's father with the father of the groom.
(This is so the respective parents may introduce each other to their friends and relations.)
The Best Man and Matron of Honour are next in line.
Farther inside the room are the Bride and Groom. This is done so that the receiving line moves smoothly.
It is not necessary to have Brides Maids and Pages in the reception line.

These words are for guests in the reception line:

1. Other than a formal introduction and greeting exchange, do not have a long discussion.

2. After greeting the happy couple, you will likely be handed a drink by one of several wine waiters/waitresses who can direct you to the seating plan board, find your seat and enjoy the company of those seated at your table.

What has been suggested may seem very regimented and somewhat stiff. It is not supposed to be, but bear in mind the bride and groom may have a plane to catch and the venue staff have a schedule to work to.
